Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Mount Airy - 3 Mile Fundraising Walk

On Sunday, October 20, 2013, the community will join together to end breast cancer by participating in the 3rd annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.  This three mile fundraising walk will take place in Watkins Park in Mt. Airy.  Event registration begins and 9:00 a.m. and the walk commences at 10:00 a.m. Last year, 900 walkers from Carroll, Frederick, Howard, Montgomery Counties and more participated in the Strides Walk and raised $85,000 for the American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk is the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation uniting nearly 300 communities to finish the fight.  Event proceeds helps to fund breast cancer research to prevent, treat, and cure the disease.  Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society ensure access to mammograms for women who need them as well as provide support to people facing breast cancer.
