Liberty High School Thespian Troup 984 is the first in the
United States to perform The Trench.
This award-winning one act play, by Oliver Lansley, achieved a sell-out
five star run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where some members of the troupe
saw it this past summer. This physical
theatre piece tells the story of a miner who is trapped underground in a tunnel
during World War I. The story blends puppetry, live music, and
creative staging to follow the man as he deals with the reality of those left
behind. This poignant story of hope will
resonate with audiences long after they have left the theatre.
This national premiere of The Trench can be seen at the Carroll County Arts Center in
Westminster on January 18th at 2 pm, and at the Schnorr Auditorium
at Liberty High School, 5855 Bartholow Road, Eldersburg, on January 31st at
7 pm; and February 1st at 2 pm and 7 pm. Tickets for the
performances at Liberty High are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Veterans are invited to attend the 2 pm show
on February 1st at a discounted ticket price of $8 at the
