Focusing on Deer in Eldersburg

An Eldersburg photographer captures images of local wildlife.

At times, its hard to remember to take pictures when the deer are out back. They are fun to watch in the morning and evenings, especially when the fawns come along. Whe the fawns are young, mom leaves them at the egde of the woods, but as they age they tag along and play.

Mom also teaches them to eat in the garden. Watching them eat the beans and tomatoes makes it easy to see the crop damage that farmers talk about. One of the images is a deer with a mouth full of beans.

I know the hunters have taken to the woods for bow season and other hunters are thinking about rifle season at the end of November, but I shoot the deer with my Nikon. The deer pictured here, where all shot in the Eldersburg area.

Seven of the images were captured out the kitchen window. If you look at the seventh image, you see white tails on both sides of the doe. She has two fawns that are nursing.
