Things to Do in Carroll County This Weekend: Dec. 16-18

Celebrate the Ravens, drive or walk through a live nativity, attend a holiday concert and shop at the last Christmas Farmers Market of the season.

Grab your Ravens football jersey and join fans and community residents on Dec. 17 at 1 p.m. for the Ravens Main Street America Rally and Parade. The parade will assemble at the McDaniel College Arch and proceed down Main Street to Longwell where the rally will begin. Special guests are former Ravens Bennie Thompson and Joe Maese. Kirk McEwen from 105.9 The Edge Radio will serve as Master of Ceremonies and their will be a live performance by the band Wylde Fire. The Baltimore Ravens Mascot "Poe" will be at this family friendly tribute to the Ravens. 

Visit the church grounds at Faith Lutheran Church in Eldersburg on Dec. 17 and 18 at 6:30 p.m. and watch the annual production of their narrated live nativity. The event will feature costumed performers and live animals. After the program hot chocolate and cookies will be served in the fellowship hall. Admission is free.

Walt Michael and Company are holding their annual holiday concert at the Carroll Arts Center on Dec. 17 at 8 p.m. The event includes live music by special guest Barry Mitterhoff of Hot Tuna. Enjoy the sounds of old-time Southern Appalachian music, Celtic, bluegrass, classical, swing, jazz style music and more. Tickets are on sale for $19 and $17 for students, seniors and teens.

No need to find a parking space to attend the Live Drive-Thru Nativity at Crossroads Community Church on Friday, Dec. 16 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 17 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Click on the link above to view a video of lasts years event. Admission is free.

The last Carroll County Christmas Farmers Market of the season takes place on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Walk through the many handmade crafts, baked goods, gourmet foods, nuts, honey, decorations, fresh evergreen items and more available for sale. Admission is free.
