ATV Accident Leaves Two in Critical Condition

A man and woman were found unresponsive after the accident, police believe alcohol may be a factor.

Police believe alcohol was a factor in an All Terrain Vehicle accident that occurred in Union Bridge just after midnight on March 18, they said.

Carroll County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 400 block of Mckinstrys Mill Road for a single vehicle accident involving an ATV, according to police reports.  When they arrived at the scene, sheriff’s deputies discovered that the driver had apparently lost control and struck a guard rail.

The driver, identified as James Lee Maticic Jr., 36, and his passenger, Debranne Linda Martin, 19, were not wearing helmets at the time of the accident.  Both were found unconscious and unresponsive.
