Carroll County Man Dies From Injuries Nine Days After Car Crash

Robert F. Knust died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a car collision last week.

A Mount Airy man died Wednesday from injuries sustained in a car collision on Route 27 last week, according to a Maryland State Police press release. 

Robert F. Knust, 72, of the 5100 block of Perry Road in Mount Airy, was transported to Shock Trauma on April 18 following a car crash north of Gillis Falls Road. 

Knust was driving a 2006 Toyota Corolla on Route 27 when he struck a stationary minivan in the rear that was attempting to make a left turn into a driveway.

The driver of the minivan was identified as Virginia M. Mason, 64, of the 5600 block of Ridge Road in Mount Airy. She was transported to Carroll Hospital and was treated for minor injuries, according to a Maryland State Police Press Release.
