Liberty High School Graduate Drives Car Into Lake, Dies in Arkansas

Former Eldersburg resident and Liberty High School graduate Angela Darlene Becker died Sunday after driving her car into a lake.

A graduate of Liberty High School and former Eldersburg resident died after driving her car into an Arkansas lake Sunday, according to multiple news reports. 

The body of Angela Darlene Becker, 30, was discovered in a car completely submerged in about seven feet of water in Bull Shoals Lake, according to an article by The Republic. 

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office said it appears that the vehicle went down a steep incline on a nearby road and into the lake near a boat dock. It was found 39 feet from the edge of the water, according to the article. A preliminary investigation said that she drowned.

The sheriff's office reported to the scene at 11:15 a.m. Sunday after receiving a 911 call from two fishermen who spotted the car, according to an article by KATV. 

Nearby witnesses said they saw Becker leaving an area residence upset around midnight, according to the article.

It is unknown whether the incident was intentional or accidental. Becker's body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to confirm the cause and manner of death, according to the article.
