Man Charged in Collisions With Parked Cars, Mailboxes, Stop Sign

The incident took place in the Harvest Farms and Carroll Highlands communities in Eldersburg early Wednesday.

A man was charged early Wednesday in collisions with at least five parked vehicles, three mailboxes and a stop sign in the Harvest Farms and Carroll Highlands communities in Eldersburg, according to a Carroll County Sheriff's Office press release. 

Bruce Lee Burney, 21, of Westminster was charged with eight counts of failing to report or remain at the scene of a motor vehicle accident in addition to driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving, negligent driving and driving on a revoked/suspended out of state license, according to the release. 

Early Wednesday, a resident reported that a white truck had just struck a mailbox.

The vehicle description was broadcast and a Maryland State Trooper patrolling the area located and stopped a truck traveling a short distance from the scene. The truck was missing its front bumper and signal lights, with several scratches and dents along its side.

Burney was taken into custody and is awaiting a bail review hearing before the District Court commissioner.
