Man Missing: Vehicle Found Near Liberty Reservoir

Police searched for a man whose car was discovered near the Liberty Reservoir.

The investigation of a missing Baltimore man moved to Eldersburg when his car was discovered on Route 26 near the Carroll County line, according to a Carroll County Sheriff's Office press release. 

A Maryland State Trooper patrolling the area found an unattended 2002 Honda Accord parked along the shoulder at the Liberty Reservoir Bridge around 11 a.m. Saturday. 

The vehicle belongs to Christopher Anthony White, 44, who was reported missing by family members Friday afternoon, police said.

Search and rescue teams from the Gamber and Sykesville Fire Companies, K-9 teams from Chesapeake Search and Rescue, Mid Atlantic Search and Rescue and Maryland State Police joined Carroll County Sheriff’s Deputies and Baltimore City Watershed Rangers in a search of the Reservoir property by boat and land starting Saturday afternoon.

An aerial search of the Watershed was conducted by the Maryland State Police Aviation Section with no additional discoveries.

White is described as 5' 9' tall, and approximately 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen Friday wearing an orange long sleeve, button down shirt, blue jeans and low cut Timberland boots.

Sheriff’s investigators have removed White’s vehicle for examination by forensic investigators, and are working closely with Baltimore police.
