Police Identify Drivers in Sykesville Motorcycle Crash on Liberty Road

A motorcycle crash sent a Sykesville man to shock trauma Friday.

The identities of the drivers involved in a crash on Liberty Road in Sykesville that sent one to shock trauma on Friday were released by Maryland State Police. 

A red Suzuki motorcycle driven by Richard Eugene Walters III, 25, of the 4100 block of Jim Bowers Road in Sykesville, was heading eastbound on Liberty Road shortly after 4 p.m. Friday when he was hit by a white Chevrolet Yukon pulling out of the Monroe Shopping Center and making a left turn, according to Maryland State Police. 

The Yukon was driven by Rosemarie Sullivan, 18, of the 6100 block of Flemish Blue Court in Eldersburg, according to the release. Sullivan failed to yield the right of way and struck the motorcycle.

Walters was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
