Sykesville Woman Sentenced to Serve 30 Days for Fatal Crash

The woman was found guilty of negligent driving in a crash that killed a Westminster woman in October.

A Sykesville woman was found guilty of negligent driving and ordered to serve 30 days in jail for a fatal crash that killed a Westminster woman Oct. 19, 2009, according to an article by the Carroll County Times. 

Anastacia Hardester, 21, of the 6500 block of Sykesville Road was found guilty of negligent driving, driving while uninsured, and failure to drive on the right half of the road by the Carroll County Circuit Court. 

Valerie Claire Tull, 24, was killed in October, 2009 when the car Hardester was driving crossed the center line of Md. 27 near Kate Wagner Road in Westminster.

Her car hit Tull's nearly head-on, according to the Carroll County Times. 

Hardester was found not guilty of vehicular homicide and driving while impaired by drugs, which she was previously accused of, according the article.

Hardester will have to serve two years of probation, pay $1,500 in fines, in addition to completing 150 hours of volunteer service and attending Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous meetings once a week, says the report.
