Carroll County Commissioners Elect New Officers

Commissioner Howard was re-elected as the president of the board.

On its one-year anniversary, the Carroll County Board of Commissioners elected new officers, holding a vote at the end of its open meeting Tuesday.

The commissioners needed a total of three votes to win elections for president, vice president or secretary.

The results were as follows:

  • Commissioner Doug Howard, District 5, was re-elected president of the board. 
  • Commissioner Richard Rothschild, District 4, was elected vice president of the board, which was previously held by Commissioner Haven Shoemaker, District 2.
  • Commissioner Dave Roush, District 3, was elected secretary of the board, which was previously held by Commissioner Robin Frazier, District 1.

The officers assumed their new roles immediately.
