Commissioners Extend Media Contract, Put Aside Funds for PlanMaryland Summit

The Board of Commissioners met Thursday, Sept. 29 in Westminster.

The Carroll County Commissioners extended the current media consultant contract and decided to set aside money for a PlanMaryland summit, in a meeting that at times turned to heated discussion Thursday.

The contract for James Simpson, a media consultant for the Carroll County Government was extended by a month at Thursday's public meeting in a 4-1 vote by the Carroll County Commissioners. Simpson's three-month contract was due to expire on Nov. 1 and will instead be extended until Dec. 1.

The commissioners voted 3-2 to set a cap on expenditures for a PlanMaryland Summit at $20,000 and to cap the county's contribution to $10,000.
