Commissioners Proclaim Jan. 15 Baltimore Ravens Day

Carroll County has Ravens fever.

Entering the county office building, you will have to walk over a Raven stencil and "XXX" written under it. The Ravens are gearing up to face the Houston Texans Sunday and the county is gearing up to be the best fans around.

The Board of County Commissioners declared Sunday, Jan. 15 as Ravens’ Day and issued the following proclamation:

WHEREAS, the Baltimore Ravens have won the 2012 AFC North Division Title and the first round playoff bye; and

WHEREAS, the Baltimore Ravens won all eight of their home games and four of their away games for a winning season of 12 games; and

WHEREAS, the Baltimore Ravens have run, tackled, kicked, passed, blocked and sacked their way into the hearts of Carroll County residents; and

WHEREAS, the Baltimore Ravens have shown our community what can result from hard work, persistent dedication, a love of sport and teamwork; and

WHEREAS, the Baltimore Ravens have represented us with considerable distinction, energy, sportsmanship and class.

NOW, THEREFORE, WE, THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CARROLL COUNTY, MARYLAND, do hereby proclaim January 15, 2012 as
Baltimore Ravens Day

I'm glad to see they're finally getting down to doing some real work!

Probably the most significant thing they've done in over a year in office.
