County Hosts 'Listening Session' for Freedom Comprehensive Plan

The updated Freedom plan will incorporate community consensus to aid in defining the future of this region of Carroll County, according to a news release.

A public "Listening Session" is being hosted by county government to provide an opportunity for community input on the review and update of the Freedom Community Comprehensive Plan.

The meeting will take place at Sykesville Middle School Media Center, 7301 Springfield Ave., on Wednesday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.

Freedom’s comprehensive plan will examine future land use patterns, transportation networks, community facilities, recreational features, and natural resource. The updated Freedom plan will incorporate community consensus to aid in defining the future of this region of Carroll County according to a county news release.

Residents are strongly encouraged to join in this discussion. County planning staff will be at the meeting.

As the project progresses, additional input opportunities will be provided.

County planning staff is also available to visit with interested Freedom area groups, organizations and clubs at their regularly scheduled meetings or events to continue these Listening Sessions.
