Delegate Krebs Offers Report Summarizing 2013 Legislative Session

Do you believe your elected officials did their job in Annapolis in 2013?

In a recent newsletter to her constituents, Carroll County Delegate Susan Krebs, R-District 9B, offered a link to the "90 Day Report," a summary of the legislation from the 2013 session of the Maryland General Assembly.

The lengthy report lists the following as "major issues in 2013": 

  • Budget
  • Controlled Dangerous Substances
  • Death Penalty Repeal
  • Dog Owner Liability 
  • Education
  • Elections
  • Energy
  • Environment and Natural Resources
  • Firearm Safety and Control
  • Health Insurance 
  • Pensions
  • Public-Private Partnerships
  • Transportation

In the budget portion of the report (page A118), there is a detailed accounting of state funding Carroll County received (the county and local municipalities)  in FY2013 and how much is budgeted for FY2014.

According to the report, in this current fiscal year Carroll County received $154,124 in direct aid from the state. Carroll County is budgeted to receive $153,121 in FY2014, a .7 percent reduction.
