Eldersburg and Sykesville Today: Public Budget Hearing, Drunken Driving Demo

The Sykesville Town Council will hold a public hearing on the FY 2013 budget, and the Sykesville Driver Training Facility will host a half-day workshop on drunken driving for Liberty High students.

Awareness and civic duty are on the docket for Eldersburgians and the community of Sykesville today:

  • Drunken driving demo: The half-day workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Driver Training Facility at 7310 Slacks Road. The Maryland Community Crime Prevention Institute will teach 30 Liberty High students about driving drunk by way of sobriety tests, "DUI" goggles, testimony and lecture. 
  • Public budget hearing: The Sykesville Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. at the Town House at 7547 Main St. and hold the first of two hearings on the FY 2013 buget. The mayor at the April 9 meeting.
