Capital Gazette: When the Stormwater Management Watershed Protection Act passed the Maryland General Assembly two years ago it was much less controversial than it is today. But thanks to opponents rebranding it the “rain tax” it’s drawing the ire of more Maryland residents. Opponents armed with the new slogan are hoping to use merchandise such as t-shirts and coffee mugs to help bolster opposition to the law.

Baltimore Sun: Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, who was in charge of the creation and implementation of the state’s health care exchange website, will testify during a committee hearing Tuesday about the issues that have plagued the site’s roll out. Brown, who is running for the Democratic nomination for governor, has come under fire by his rivals for MarylandHealthConnections.gov's glitches.  

Brown: Gansler Sounds Like a Republican

The Daily Record: Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown has been taking heat from his political rivals about his handling of the implementation and creation of Maryland’s health care exchange website. MarylandHealthConnection.gov’s problems have turned into a political liability for Brown, and his Democratic rivals have pounced. But Brown shot back at Attorney General Doug Gansler, who is also running for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination, accusing his rival of sounding like a Republican.

Maryland Juice: Rep. John Delaney, a first term Democrat in the House of Representatives, reportedly has placed a poll in the field to find out where he stands in Maryland’s gubernatorial race. Democrats already have three major candidates in the field Lt. Gov. Anthony Brown, Attorney General Doug Gansler and Del. Heather Mizeur.
