Carroll County Students Compete in SkillsUSA State Championships

Students from the Carroll County Career and Technology Center competed in the SkillsUSA Maryland Leadership and Skills Conference state championships in late March.

Forty-seven students from the Carroll County Career and Technology Center competed in the SkillsUSA Maryland Leadership and Skills Conference state championships on March 25 and 26, a showcase for the best career and technology students from across Maryland.

The following students received medals:

  • Abbey Reid (CHS) Baking & Pastry - Silver Medal - Commercial Baking
  • Cameron Logue (SCHS) Cosmetology - Gold Medal - Cosmetology
  • Corey McDevitt (FSK) Heavy Equipment and Truck Technology - Bronze Medal - Diesel Equipment Technology
  • Bryan Wagner (NCHS) Heavy Equipment and Truck - Silver Medal - Diesel Equipment Technology
  • Katelyn Patterson (WHS) Culinary Arts - Silver Medal - Food & Beverage Service
  • Tasha Robinson (FSK) Print Production - Bronze Medal - Graphic Communications
  • Holley Cox (FSK) Academy of Health - Silver Medal - Health Knowledge Bowl Team

  • Collins Lethbridge (FSK) Welding - Gold Medal - Welding Fabrication Team
  • Joseph Wentz (FSK) Welding - Gold Medal - Welding Fabrication Team
  • James Rawlings (WMHS) - Gold Medal - Welding Fabrication Team.

Tim Norwood, Culinary Arts teacher, and Mike Campanile, Masonry teacher, serve as the advisors for SkillsUSA. Norwood was selected as the Outstanding SkillsUSA Advisor for Region II.

The gold medal winners will now plan and prepare for the National SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference, which will be held in Kansas City, Missouri, during the week of June 19-24.
