Century and Liberty Marching Bands Take Home Big Wins

The Lions claim another first and the Knights come home third after weekend band competitions.

and marching bands were back on the bus Saturday night.

Both bands were competing in Tournament of Band events.

Liberty traveled north to Mechanicsburg, Pa. where they captured first place in Group 2 Open. The Lions compiled a score of 83.85 for their third first place honors this fall. They also captured honors for high percussion.

Band director Brandi Jason and the Lions take a break this weekend before returning to the field on Oct. 15. Before the weekend action, Liberty was ranked second in Group 2. They have raised their score each week this season.

Century boarded the bus for the North Hagerstown show. The Knights finished fourth in Group 1 open. They had a score of 74 which was being Walkersville at 77.25 and 75.40 for Southern Garrett. Century captured the high percussion award in the show.

It was the Knights first show in TOB this fall. They took part in a USSBA event last week.

Like Liberty, band director Brian Coffill and the Knights have the weekend off before returning for a performance on Oct. 15.

Looking ahead, Liberty host the Chapter 5 championships on Oct. 22.
