Century and Liberty Marching Bands Top the Competition

The Knights and Lions had a successful weekend in band competition.

The and marching bands were on the road Saturday in competition.

The Knights were in Annapolis for the USSBA Marine Corps Invitational, and grabbed first in Group I open class with a score of 68.050. They also took honors for music, overall presentation, visual, performance and color guard.

Under band director Brian Coffill, Century performed "Autumns Past."

Liberty competes in Group 2 of Tournament of Bands. The Lions traveled north to the Hershey Preview sponsored by Lower Dauphin High School.

The Lions scored the top score of the young season at 81.85 to take first place in the Group 2 open. Liberty also captured high auxiliary and percussion awards.

After last weekend, Liberty was ranked third in Group 2 behind Southern Regional at 81.70 and Deptford at 79.65. The Lions had a 78.75 last Saturday.

The Lions fall show is "Atlantis" under band director Brandi Jason.

Liberty returns north of the Mason-Dixon line Saturday night to Mechanicsburg, PA. They are to take the field again in Group 2 Open at 8:23 p.m.
