County School CIO Recognized with Award for Innovation

He was recently selected to receive a SmartCXO Award by SmartCEO magazine

Gary Davis, Chief Information Officer for Carroll County Public Schools, was recently selected to receive a SmartCXO Award by SmartCEO magazine. 

Davis was selected in the CIO/CTO Category in the Baltimore Metropolitan Area for his contributions to the executive management team of Carroll County Public Schools, according to a press release.    

The SmartCXO awards applaud local executives in both the private and public sectors for work in their organization’s initiatives.

Davis will be recognized in the March 2012 edition of Baltimore SmartCEO magazine and at a reception with more than 300 local business and public sector leaders in Baltimore.     

Davis was recognized for his approach to his tenure as CIO at Carroll County Public Schools. "The Technology Services Department has evolved into a true enterprise operation with a highly competent and customer service oriented staff," said the release.

"Davis’s vision of improving the Carroll County Public Schools network resulted in his idea to expand that vision into the Carroll County Public Network, which provides benefits to the entire community, including both the public and private sector."

As Chairman of the CCPN since its creation in 2004, Davis has provided leadership that is recognized nationally as a model for cooperative government efforts and efficiencies, according to the release.
