The group will also be performing the play at home in Eldersburg.

"Our International Thespian Society members are some of the best and brightest drama performers I've seen," said Tony Cimino, Liberty’s drama teacher. "They have worked hard to bring this amazing story to life, and I have no doubt that audiences will be deeply moved."

The only connection with the man they love is via letters. Through their correspondence, the audience becomes privy to their fears, hopes, anticipation and ultimately their sorrow. His wife, Karen, must take charge of the household and the family for the first time in her married life. Lillian, his mother, is haunted by the memories of losing Jack's father in the Korean War.

His daughter, Mary, struggles with her bitterness regarding her father's absence as well as the reason behind it. This drama powerfully depicts not only the sacrifices made by soldiers but also by their families. Whether for content or performance, you will be moved by this stirring play.

Performances at the International Thespian Festival will be held January 6 and 7, at Tuscarora High School in Ballenger Creek, Maryland. The performances at Liberty High School are January 12, 13, and 14 at 7 p.m. A matinee show will also be held at Liberty on January 14 at 2 p.m. Tickets for the LHS performances are $5 in advance, or $7 at the door, and are available through the LHS online box office at www.lhsdramaclub.com.
