Local Students Compete in Auto Skills Contest

The Carroll County students showed off their car diagnosing and repairing skills.

Students from the Automotive Service Technology Programs at the Carroll County Career and Technology Center competed in the Ford /AAA Student Auto Skills Contest State Finals May 7.

The competition was held at the Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville and involved diagnosing and repairing issues on a 2012 Ford Mustang.

Crouse Ford of Taneytown loaned a new Ford Mustang to the Carroll County Career and Technology Center to allow the students to practice.

The students involved in the competition were David Blanton from Manchester Valley High School, Tyler Seals from South Carroll High School, Nicolai Myers and Cody Van Vugt, both from Westminster High School.

The two teams placed 5th and 8th out of a field of 10 teams.
