South Carroll Graduate Takes Over McDaniel Women's Soccer Team

Sandra Lagana grew up in Sykesville and was recently named the McDaniel women's soccer team coach.

Athletics Director Paul Moyer announced the selection of Sandra Lagana from Sykesville as the new women's soccer coach for the Green Terror, according to a news release on the McDaniel Athletics website.

Lagana grew up in Sykesville and graduated as Class Valedictorian from South Carroll High School in 2000. She then went on to play soccer and lacrosse at Bridgewater College in Virginia, graduating in 2004 with a degree in communication studies. 

Lagana served as the head women's soccer at Ferrum College since 2007, spending the last five seasons building the Panthers program into a playoff contender in the USA South Athletic Conference, according to the release.

Lagana starts as head coach on March 19, with McDaniel opening the 2012 season at home against Marymount on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
