South Carroll High School Graduate Receives Northrop Grumman Scholarship

Ranked third in his class with a 2070 on his SAT's, Nathan Tennyson is on his way to the University of Maryland to study engineering and he now has a scholarship to help.

Tennyson is a recipient of the prestigious Engineering Scholars Award from Northrop Grumman, giving him $10,000 toward tuition, books, lodging and meals. 

The scholarship program is aimed at supporting promising high school seniors who intend to pursue a career in an engineering-related field.  Candidates must plan to attend an accredited college or university school of engineering as a full-time student in an approved engineering program.

Students from 23 Maryland counties and the city of Baltimore­ each received merit-based scholarships of $10,000, payable in $2,500 installments over four years, during an awards reception and dinner hosted by Northrop Grumman at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on June 9.

• Carroll County, Nathan Tennyson, South Carroll High School
• Cecil County, Benjamin Dorsman, Elkton High School
• Charles County, Kristina Milman, North Point School
• Dorchester County, Joshua Condon, South Dorchester High School
