South Carroll's Horn Named Athletic Director of the Year

The Maryland State Athletic Director Association selects a representative from each of the 13 districts that comprise the organization to honor each year.

The Maryland State Athletic Directors Association (MSADA) named Jim Horn, Athletic Director at South Carroll High School, Athletic Director of the Year for District 1B.

MSADA selects a representative from each of the 13 districts that comprise the organization to honor each year. The awards are presented to athletic administrators who have made a significant impact on the lives of students and used athletics to achieve progress in the social and cultural environment of the school and community, according to a news release. 

The selected individuals are eligible for the next three years to be selected as the Maryland State Athletic Director of the Year.

“Jim is a seasoned athletic director who is looked up to by his colleagues for his experience and expertise surrounding athletic administration issues," Jim Rodriguez, Supervisor of Athletics for Carroll County Public Schools, said in a statement.

According to a news release, Horn has worked for Carroll County Public Schools for 31 years, the last 13 years as Athletic Director.

Horn will be honored at the annual MSADA Banquet to be held on Saturday, April 27 in Ocean City. Previous winners from District 1B from Carroll County include Troy Warehime, Craig Walker, Terry Molloy, Randy Pentz and Ed DeVincent. This is the second time that Horn has been selected for this honor.
