Haugh was down 7-3 before he pinned Tarvis Connelly in 3:05. It was the first official match win of the season for Haugh.

"He collected one forfeit earlier in the season. He stayed out there and worked hard and I couldn’t be happier for the kid to come through for us there," said Liberty High School coach Mike Flemming.

"Genuinely Brandon Haugh is the hero of the day, without a doubt. He was huge there. To be down as much as he was and keep battling and battling and looking for the fall. I couldn’t be prouder of him."

South Carroll coach Bryan Hamper said all of the teams in the tough match are strong competitors.

"This says a lot about Carroll County wrestling to split a tri-meet, one, one, one," said Hamper. "You had three competitive teams tonight we knew style match ups through out the county. We have a lot of really strong light weights and those guys banged it out tonight. They split each match. We are a style match up team. Where we have six very strong wrestlers that can compete at the highest level in the state and then we have some guys trying to step up and prove they are a starter.

So everyone of our dual meets is competitive and all three teams are very equal. You could wrestle this matches ten more times and it’s going to be the same way five and five," he said.

Century coach Dennis Frazier agreed that the teams matched up well. "It was even. We were well matched up. We did what we could. We gave up 12 points in forfeits and 18 to Liberty, but that’s our situation and we have to deal with it and the kids wrestled well."
