"We knew this team came in with a low record, but we had to work and get ready to play for the playoffs," said South Carroll coach Doug Goff. "So we had to try to get better at something and we had a couple things we picked out to and said we are going to try to work on these things. If the score got ugly, we weren’t going to worry about. I told their coach and the coach was fine with it. The fans didn’t like it, but they don’t understand the whole big picture. I thought we got better today, which is what we wanted to do."

South Carroll scored first and the Cougars answered to knot the score at 2-all. From there it was all South Carroll as they led 18-2 at the end of the first eight minutes of play.
