Carroll County Sweeps First Annual Mason Dixon Senior All-Star Classic

Carroll County and Adams County, PA pitted their best senior basketball players against each other Friday night at Westminster High School for the first Annual Mason Dixon Senior All-Star Classic.

More than 500 people came out Friday night for the Mason Dixon Senior All-Star Classic. On hand to enjoy the game were Carroll County School Superintendent Steve Guthrie, Carroll County Supervisor of Athletics Jimmy Rodriguez, and fresh off the NCAA tournament court, Penn State's Cammeron Woodyard (a Winters Mill grad).

The Carroll girls team won 46-21 and the Carroll boys team won 65-49.  But the focus of the event was more about having fun and celebrating the basketball careers of the seniors than about winning.

Chic-fil-A sponsored the halftime 3-point team shootout and sent the cow mascot to entertain the crowd. Each player on each team had the chance to participate in the team 3-point shootout which was set to music and accompanied by Chic-fil-A mini balls being thrown into the stands. Adams County swept both the boys and girls contests. The girls went into overtime to win 18-16. Adams County boys won  22-18.
