Join Gail Barranda Rivas, Master Instructor for the Masala Bhangra Workout on Friday, November 9, 7-9 PM for a Masala Bhangra master class at Freedom Fitness (6400 Ridge Road, Eldersburg).
The Masala Bhangra Workout® is derived from two Indian words. The first, Masala, which means 'spicy' in Hindi, and second Bhangra, which is a traditional folk dance from the northern state of Punjab, India.
The Masala Bhangra Workout® is an exercise dance routine that modernizes the high-energy folk dance of Bhangra by blending traditional Bhangra dance steps and the exhilaration of Bollywood (Hindi film) moves, seen recently in the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire! This unique dance mixes cardiovascular with fun, and is suitable for participants of all ages and fitness levels. Masala Bhangra® is an ACE and AFAA approved fitness program and devised by Sarina Jain, the "Jane Fonda of India."
A Therapeutic Kneads massage therapist will be on-hand providing free massages to participants.
A portion of the proceeds will go towards Freedom Area Recreation Council programs.
