The Cougars beat the Panthers 17-7 in the 2A/1A state championship, according to theMaryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA).

Cougars coach Matt Parks said that it was his team's best game of the season, saying in a post-game press conference: "I just can't tell you how proud I am of these guys....they definitely saved the best [game] for last."
