Century High School, located in Southern Carroll County and established in 2001, is a public high school under the Carroll County Public School System. The school was built to alleviate overcrowding at the nearby Liberty High School and South Carroll High School. Century is recognized as a career academy high school. Students are entered into one of four academies based on career interest in their sophomore year and are encouraged to take at least six credits within their chosen academy to earn an Academy Certificate.
Numerous activities and athletic teams are offered through Century High school including drama, band and championship teams in cross country, lacrosse and outdoor track .
Century High School was ranked 829 out of 1300 in Newsweek Magazine's top schools in the United States.
