A Pennsylvania woman faces charges of calling in a bomb threat on Tuesday that closed Carroll County Circuit and District Courts, and halted traffic in the area for five hours, according to the county Sheriff's Department. Police said that Kaylissa Lashel Kelly, 19, of Littlestown, PA, made the call on behalf of an acquaintance who was scheduled for a court appearance Tuesday morning. Kelly is charged with making false statement of destructive device, threat of arson, reckless endangerment, telephone misuse and obstruction of justice. Kelly was arrested at her home in Littlestown on Friday and is being held at the Adam’s County, PA Detention Center awaiting extradition to Maryland for the bomb threat charges and for failing to appear in …

This story was updated at 4:25 p.m. Tuesday. A 13-year-old female is accused of making a false threat Tuesday to bomb West Middle School, Carroll County Sheriff's officials said in a release. According to a Sheriff's Department news release, just after 11 a.m. school officials reported finding an anonymous, non-specific written threat to the school building. They said a student found the threatening note, a release said. The school was evacuated while officers from several area law enforcement agencies inspected the building with explosive detection canine teams. Two bomb threats in Westminster Tuesday clogged traffic, shut down workplaces and disrupted the school day --- and both were determined to be a "hoax," by law enforcement officials. Law enforcement officials said they do not believe the two incidents to be related. Officials from the Carroll County Sheriff’s office said Carroll County Circuit Court officials received an anonymous phone call at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday claiming “an explosive device had been left in one of the court buildings." After a second bomb threat in eight days at Liberty High School in Eldersburg, police and school officials said they are committed to finding who is responsible for making the threats. Captain Lust of the Carroll County Sheriff's Department said that police are conducting interviews based on tips they have received. Lust said few details are being released as the investigation is ongoing. On Nov. 20 just before 9:30 a.m., Liberty High School was evacuated in response to a bomb threat found written on a wall at the school. Updated 1:30 p.m. The Carroll County Sheriff's Office said in a statement that it is continuing the investigation into a bomb threat at Liberty High School this morning. At approximately 9:30 a.m., Carroll County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Crime Scene Technicians, and the Explosive Detection Canine responded to Liberty High School in Eldersburg for a bomb threat. The threat was a written on a wall of the school, according to the release. Upon their arrival, the building had already been evacuated under the direction of school officials. While it is true that this young girl has some issues to work out, I also find something else a bit alarming. Has anyone else noticed how close the students are to the building during this evacuation? My daughter is one of the students who was evacuated from the media center and her class was outside near the dumpsters.
