I want to wear pink gloves and dance through the halls of Carroll Hospital Center after watching this video. I probably won't do that, but I will certainly vote for Carroll Hospital Center in this national competition. The winner will receive a $10,000 donation. From today until Friday, Nov. 2, people can vote for Carroll Hospital Center’s Pink Glove Dance video. The hospital produced the video to enter in Medline’s annual contest to promote breast cancer awareness. Ravens Will Wear Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The Ravens will begin a month-long showcase of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Sunday night on national television.

It may be Purple Friday, but come Sunday Ravens Nation will be wearing pink. Ravens players and coaches will wear pink items, fans will be given pink ribbons and country music singer Martina McBride will perform while surrounded by about 50 breast cancer survivors and women currently undergoing treatment before Sunday night's nationally televised game versus the New York Jets. Game-worn pink merchandise -- which will include cleats, gloves, jerseys and towels, a team statement said -- will be auctioned off on the NFL's website. Annual Pink Fling Brings Cancer Awareness to Carroll County

The 12th annual Pink Fling brings survivors and awareness to Piney Branch Park.

Carroll Hospital Center will host the 12th annual Pink Fling Sunday, bringing survivors, families and supporters together to raise money for the hospital’s Breast Center. “It’s a fun and inspirational day in addition to being a fundraiser,” said Eileen Overfelt, manager of the Women’s Place at Carroll Hospital Center. “Its goal is to spread the word but doing it in a fun and inspirational way.” The event brings about 200 people together each year and is an opportunity to honor loved ones who lost their battle with breast cancer, support breast cancer survivors, promote breast cancer awareness and raise money to support the Women’s Initiative Supporting Health (WISH) programs at Carroll Hospital Center. Since I'm a woman, I can certainly support breast cancer research. That being said, however, I truly wish more attention and publicity would be paid to other deadly cancers, which receive nowhere near the funding, e.g., lung, prostate, skin, colon, pancreatic, liver, throat/mouth, uterine, etc. Before someone gets on their high horse about lung cancer, many have never smoked or have given it up …   more ›
