Update: Nicodemus Road Car Accident Leaves One Dead

The driver died at the hospital from injuries sustained in a car crash.

At approximately 1:05 a.m. April 28, Carroll County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident in the 1900 Block of Nicodemus Road.  The sheriff's office says the driver of a 2006 Ford F-250 truck, Adriana Maria Passaretti of Sykesville, died after being taken to the University of Maryland Hospital. Passenger Kristopher Lee Myers, 23, of Union Bridge, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Police said the truck failed to negotiate a curve, where it crossed the double yellow lane divider and left the roadway, striking several trees. Teenager Dies in Single Car Accident

Police said the driver likely lost control of her car during a rain storm.

  Just after 1 a.m. today, Carroll County sheriff’s deputies responded to Poole Road south of Sykesville Road for a single vehicle accident involving a 16-year-old female from Westminster.   According to a news release, deputies said they discovered that the driver had apparently lost control of the Toyota Corolla during a heavy rain and struck a tree. Police said the driver, who was not identified, was found deceased at the scene by rescue personnel from the Gamber Community Fire Company as a result of injuries she sustained during the collision. Sheriff's Office Collision Investigators are reconstructing the events that led to the accident, a process that could take several weeks. Police say weather and speed are believed to be factors …

Why dont the funeral homes list your organization as a charity when this kind of tragedy happens.
