Eldersburg Peebles to Close Its Doors in January
The department store has a long history in its space at the Carrolltown Mall.
Peebles, the local department store located in the Carrolltown Mall in Eldersburg is closing its doors. The 29,881 square foot longtime anchor at a shopping center will officially close on Jan. 21, according to store manager Robin Eppig. It’s classified as a “dead mall,” according to Deadmalls.com, a non-profit site that promotes the history of the malls across the United States and the future of the center remains unknown. The mall turned shopping center still contains a few active businesses, including Kmart, Big Lots, Freedom Fitness and Andies Candies.
