This year's annual event raised more than $20,000 for Arts Council programs.
The Carroll Arts Center was abuzz with activity during its recent Festival of Wreaths. An estimated 2,500 people visited the event which featured 203 uniquely themed wreaths. The wreaths were created by individuals, businesses and clubs and were offered to the public in a week-long silent auction which raised $20,200 for the Arts Council. Get in on fun new twists added to this year's holiday festivities at the Carroll Arts Center.
This year's Annual Festival of Wreaths is set to begin earlier than usual to coincide with Westminster's holiday parade, tree lighting and Small Business Saturday. This year's Festival of Wreaths will begin Nov. 24 and run through Saturday, Dec. 1 at the Carroll Arts Center. The Festival traditionally features more than 220 uniquely decorated theme wreaths that range from wacky to whimsical and from elegant to eclectic. There is an amazing level of creativity, engineering and generosity exemplified in the diverse entries. Proceeds from the week-long silent auction benefit the Carroll County Arts Council. Registration is open for the Carroll County Arts Council's 15th Annual Festival of Wreaths.
The Carroll County Arts Council is putting the call out for anyone who is creative, inventive, involved, engaged and likes a challenge. Artists, decorators, clubs, businesses and schools are invited to participate in the 15th Annual Festival of Wreaths to be held Nov. 24 – Dec. 1 at the Carroll Arts Center in downtown Westminster. A total of 2,511 unique wreaths have been displayed over the past 14 years and collectively they have raised $242,691 for the organization, according to an Arts Council news release. The 14th Annual Festival of Wreaths at the Carroll County Arts Center raised $23,444 this year. The funds will help support Arts Council programs and events. Wreaths were created by 219 talented decorators this year and more than 3,000 visited the event. The public voted on their favorites and the award winners are as follows: Artistic Excellence Awards:
