High School Basketball: Century Tops Liberty in Girls Basketball

Century High School advanced in regional play with a 53-24 victory over rival Liberty High School Monday night. The top seeded Knights will host either Walkersville or Middletown Wednesday night in Class 2A West region action. South Carroll High School ended their season Monday night with a 49-43 defeat to Catoctin. The Cavaliers had a 14-10 record for the season. "We had a very good night defensively. Alice (Mercer), Tess Nichols, Angela (Flister) Jamie (Clark) I thought team-wise we did a really good job taking away their inside game," said Century coach Joel Beard.
