Basket Bingo, Strings Extravaganza, 'Pastabilities' and More in Carroll County Public Schools

Patch highlights news and events happening in Carroll County Public Schools.

Important Dates Northwest Region Strings Extravaganza The six public schools in the Northwest Region of Carroll County (Francis Scott Key High School, New Windsor and Northwest Middle Schools, and Elmer A. Wolfe, Runnymede and Taneytown Elementary Schools) have planned a Regional Strings Extravaganza to be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 7 pm. The purpose is to promote string instrument performance and to encourage current students to continue to participate in school orchestra throughout their public school years. Students will rehearse and perform in a Suzuki-style concert, culminating in a mass string orchestra which should number over 100 string musicians. The concert is free and open to the public. School Notes: Yom Kippur, Special Education and a Town Meeting

Schools Closed Wednesday Carroll County Public Schools are closed Wednesday, Sept. 26 for Yom Kippur.  Special Education Workshop The Partners for Success Center of Carroll County Public Schools will sponsor a workshop entitled Around the World of Special Education for parents and school staff on Thursday, October 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Carroll Springs School in Westminster. This “basics” workshop will give participants an overview of the special education process and acquaint them with the terminology and procedures involved in special education.
