Driver Flees from Police, Dies in Collision

Traffic on Rt. 140 was closed between Rt. 795 and Rt. 91 for nearly 5 hours.

A man died Monday morning after fleeing from police and colliding with another vehicle. At approximately 6:25 Monday morning, DFC Brian Colussy attempted to stop a speeding Dodge Ram 1500, according to a sheriff's report. The motorist failed to stop. The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed onto Old Gamber Road, and then turned right onto Old Westminster Pike. He then turned into the Jiffy Mart located at 2284 Baltimore Boulevard and continued, without yielding, onto Rt 140, where he struck a Ford van which had been travelling eastbound, police said. The drivers of both vehicles were transported by ambulance to Carroll Hospital Center. The driver who fled, a 29-year-old male from New Windsor, died at the hospital as a result of the …

Oil Leak Causes Collisions Involving Eight Cars

No one was seriously injured as eight cars slid on a road made slippery by light rain and a truck's oil leak in Reisterstown Tuesday morning.

Light rain and a box truck’s oil leak apparently caused collisions involving eight vehicles as cars had trouble stopping, spun around and slid off the roadway on Westminster Pike near Mitchell Road Tuesday morning. “All the drivers made the same statement that the roadway was very slippery and they couldn’t stop or steer as they were going down the roadway, which has a fairly steep slope,” said Louise Rogers-Feher, a Baltimore County Police spokeswoman. An officer arrived at the scene on Westminster Pike (MD Route 140) near Mitchell Drive around 7:38 a.m. Tuesday, and said he slid about 10 feet as he was coming to a stop. i was taking my daughter to finksburg that am , only about 15 mins before all of the accidents happened and as i came thru that area i briefly lost my steering and control of my car, but i regained and made it thru, but thought it had to be oil or perhaps diesel ....on my way back down 140 i came upon the "Carnage" and thanked my Angels for watching out for me and my Daughter that morning.
