On the article Carroll County Schools See Increased Police Presence in Response to Connecticut Shooting

ReplyWhile I like having police around schools I feel this is a knee jerk reaction. Why don't we focus on what can be done to make schools a safer place all the time not just when a horrific incident has occurred. Starting with keeping the doors locked at the schools and making sure there is always someone who can see who is walking in the front door would be a good start.. I can not tell you how many times I have walked into my son's school to find no staff in the front office at all for an extended period of time. Anyone could walk in and nobody would know until it is to late..

Actually learning a new language is not that hard. My mother in law did not speak a word of English when she moved to this country. She learned English on her own without taking any classes. Just because people do not speak our language and come from another country does not mean they are stupid or unable to learn something new.

Got to love how the word bigot comes out and the suggestion to ban someone's freedom of speech as soon as someone has an opinion different then their opinion. How about acting like an adult and stating your opinion and leave the name calling out. Most people do not take people seriously who have to resort to those tactics instead of having an intellectual conversation.

Frank why don't you give the whole picture instead of what you want everyone to believe.. The average gas price for July 2008 was $4.11. so yes it was more expensive than it is now it started climbing and in April of 2008 it was roughly $3.50 a gallon it peaked at $4.11 in July and we were at $1.99 a gallon by early October. and went down to $1.79 a gallon. We had about 2 months of gas prices being higher than now. How long have our gas prices been higher than $1.79? As for housing. The market hit is peak in the fall of 2006. The prices started to fall in late 2006 and early 2007. They did not bottom out in 2010. As a matter of fact in March of 2012 they hit a 9 year low.

I would much rather have a Target than Walmart. I will still drive elsewhere to shop at Target over here at Walmart. It is great that the eye sore will be rebuilt and new stores will come in but we already have so many vacant ones in the area. Those spaces should be filled first. It would be nice if they would listen to us the residents of the area and put in some of the things we want. Since we are the consumer and tell you where we will spend our money would it not be a good idea to listen to us?
